At the Leipzig Festival of Lights 2012, the artistic director of the Festival of Lights, Jürgen Meier, ballet director and chief choreographer Mario Schröder and musician Mike Dietrich created a link this year between Hungary and Leipzig: Leipzig Ballet reflected on the themes of freedom and responsibility. Dance, live footage from Augustusplatz and a specially composed soundtrack framed a video projection with 3D elements on the façade of the Opera House, incorporating both historical and current social and political events.
