Leipzig Festival of Lights 2024
To mark the 35th anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution, several light projects could be seen beyond the evening of the Festival of Lights and through to the weekend. From 10 to 12 October 2025, light installations at St Nicolas Church Yard (1 Where did the hero come from?), Augustusplatz (4 Stringed), Burgplatz (6 Freedom?) and Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz (13 Passage) invited visitors to experience the Festival of Lights XXL. Two projects (Projects 4 and 6) had changed location in order to shine for the Festival of Lights XXL.
