The first of three episodes in the series "25 Years of Peaceful Revolution/Leipzig Festival of Lights" includes a look inside the Stasi bunker in Machern. In the survey "Memories of the Peaceful Revolution – What did it achieve?", many Leipzig residents speak in very personal terms about how the autumn of '89 changed and shaped their lives.
The second of three episodes in the series "25 Years of Peaceful Revolution/Leipzig Festival of Lights" follows, among others, Leipzig residents Mandy Härtel and Peter Dorndorf: in 1989, neither master tailor Härtel nor coffee roaster and sommelier Dorndorf would have dared to dream that they might one day pursue a profession that was also a vocation.
In addition, Hamburg artist Sigrid Sandmann is shown researching her contribution to the Leipzig Festival of Lights, a light-and-word projection at the InterCityHotel (Tröndlinring).
The last of three episodes in the series "25 Years of Peaceful Revolution/Leipzig Festival of Lights" takes viewers to the Leipzig Festival of Lights on the evening of the 9ᵗʰ of October 2014.
