Participate, get involved, join in – that was the motto on the 9ᵗʰ of October 2022 at Richard-Wagner-Platz.

Digital graffiti, also known as “Light Spray”, is an interactive art form created through the collaboration between digital artist Matthieu Tercieux and street artist Cart’1. Using elements from the world of video games, Cart’1 generated graffiti projections with a Wii controller, creating effects similar to spraying with an aerosol can. In preparation, the artists worked with young people from Leipzig to realise the project on a large scale at Richard-Wagner-Platz. Visitors to the Leipzig Festival of Lights were able to become active participants themselves and use Light Spray to transform the facades at Richard-Wagner-Platz with their own messages. In between, there were graffiti performances by Cart’1. DJ dørbystarr provided the matching sound.
