Cinematic review of the Leipzig Festival of Lights 2021

The short film shows the three light projects “WE ARE” (Augustusplatz, by Glowing Bulbs), “Ring (do/undo/redo)”, Burgplatz, by Brut Deluxe) and “89 Voices” (Richard-Wagner-Platz, by Loomaland), as well as the workshops that preceded them. Of course, it also gives a voice to the artists and visitors to the Festival of Lights and looks towards St Nicolas Church Yard with the traditional “candles' podium '89”. The installations, all of which invited people to take part, created a very special atmosphere on the evening of the 9ᵗʰ of October. The camera skilfully captures these emotions.

Lichtfest 2021 Lichtfestprojekt „89 Stimmen": Impressionen vom Workshop bei Frauenkultur e. V.

Intensive discussions in the rooms of Frauenkultur e.V. shaped the workshop for “89 Voices” on 19 and 20 June. They form the basis for the interactive light project on Richard-Wagner-Platz. Florian Giefer and Denis Bivour (artist team Loomaland) spoke with Mona Ragy Enayat, Beate Ißmer, Gisela Kallenbach, Monika Lazar, Elke Pietsch, Christine Rietzke and Susanne Wagner.

On 25 and 26 June 2021, Ben Busche and Miguel de Guzmán (artist team Brut Deluxe)  met with the local project partners at “Restlos – The Upcycling Project” on Gießerstraße. Viewing the materials and an initial trial installation on the LED wall were on the workshop programme and clearly gave all participants great pleasure.
