More than 15,000 Leipzig residents and guests commemorated the historic events of the autumn of ’89 on the 9ᵗʰ of October 2017 at Leipzig’s Augustusplatz. Here you can see photos of this exciting evening held under the motto “Departure – Responsibility – Openness”.
A few days before the Leipzig Festival of Lights 2017, the performers of the evening came together for a full-day technical rehearsal. Under the direction of the artistic director Jürgen Meier, Claudius Nießen, who will welcome various discussion partners on stage in his role as moderator on the 9ᵗʰ of October, and the Stephan König Jazz Quartet rehearsed for the first time together the interplay between talk, jazz and video. In addition, the appearances of the extras accompanying the events on stage were synchronised, and stage processes and positions were refined.
