Impressions of the Leipzig Festival of Lights 2016

More than 15,000 people from Leipzig and guests, including Martin Schulz (President of the European Parliament), Iris Gleicke (Federal Government Commissioner for the New Federal States) and Martin Dulig (Saxon State Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport), attended the Leipzig Festival of Lights 2016. They experienced a multifaceted artistic stage programme performed by Leipzig Ballet and the well-known actor Sylvester Groth. Here you can find photos from the evening.

Preparations for the Leipzig Festival of Lights 2016

Several days before the Leipzig Festival of Lights, preparations began on Augustusplatz. While the stage was being set up here despite the rainy weather, the final rehearsals with the Leipzig Ballet and actor Sylvester Groth took place at the Westin Hotel. In the offices of LTM, press passes were prepared and 1,000 candles for St Nicolas Church were packed into prayer bags.
