Building bridges between Leipzig and Gdańsk
Traditionally, the Leipzig Festival of Lights art and civic project invites everyone to Augustusplatz on the 9ᵗʰ of October – and in 2011, for the first time, the event built a bridge across Europe: in Leipzig and Gdańsk, people came together to remember the events surrounding autumn ’89 and took an active part. Both cities explored topics such as freedom, solidarity and civic engagement.
