Faces of Light is a site-specific light installation for the façade of the Zeitgeschichtliches Forum Leipzig. Projectors cast archival portraits of people involved in the events of autumn 1989 onto the windows. Beams of light extend into the public space, connecting the façade, the projection and the audience. The installation responds directly to the site’s architectural features, translating the events of the Peaceful Revolution into a spatial image. Rather than working against the glass façade, Faces of Light incorporates it, using projection and volumetric light – known as ‘God Rays’ – as its primary artistic media. This approach creates a powerful visual presence and a strong emotional impact.

László Zsolt Bordos is a Hungarian artist and internationally recognised pioneer of 3D projection mapping. He lives and works in Budapest. His monumental light works, with their distinctive visual language, transform architecture around the world into emotional, abstract spaces of experience. Bordos primarily creates solo works, installations and projections for theatre and opera, and regularly appears at international light art festivals.
