Project of the partner city Lyon with the “Platform for German-French Art” as well as Centre de Formation Désoblique, Lyon, Physical Theatre MOVEO, Barcelona, and Tanz-Zentrale Leipzig
The project (De)constructing was funded by the Saxon State Ministry of Justice and for Democracy, Europe and Equality, by Sparkasse Leipzig as well as by the Office for International Cooperation of the City of Leipzig.
The project De(constructing) combined dance performance with light and sound design as well as stage design. The performers from France (Centre de Formation Désoblique), Germany (Tanz-Zentrale Leipzig) and Spain (Physical Theatre MOVEO) brought with them different artistic approaches, languages and cultural backgrounds. From this, trinational groups emerged with a shared physical language, which interacted alternately with the light and stage design over the course of the evening. In December 2024, the project was presented at the Fête des Lumières in Lyon. In February 2025, the dancers presented their project in the third participating city: Barcelona.
Lyon has been a partner city of Leipzig since 1981.
