With Transforming Memory, the artists and cultural practitioners Ewa Meister, Johanna Ralser and Judith Selenko explored the question of how a “society of the many” remembers. The project sought to broaden perspectives on often one-sided narratives of history and to expand them through intersectional, (queer-)feminist voices. The main focus was on the civic engagement of emancipatory movements before and after 1989 and reflected their indispensable role in democratisation processes in a global context.
The projection on the Europahaus was realised in close cooperation with Space Transformers e. V. and with the support of the publishing house Yilmaz-Günay, the Luise Otto Peters Society e. V. and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation with the publication “Disrupting Memory”.
