Since 2022, Anke Stiller had been collecting statements from citizens on the terms Trust – Freedom – Responsibility and created poster templates that were presented in museums, social institutions and on market squares, where they were completed and individually designed by visitors. In this way, one thousand posters had already been created. In the run-up to the Leipzig Festival of Lights, several workshops also offered the opportunity to design individual posters that were displayed on the 9th of October. On the evening of the Leipzig Festival of Lights, visitors were likewise invited to bring their interpretation of trust, freedom and responsibility quite literally onto the street when Anke Stiller asked: “Trust is …”, “Freedom is …” and “Responsibility is …”

Anke Stiller, born in 1980 in Rudolstadt, studied theatre studies, philosophy and musicology at Leipzig University and completed her diploma in Fine Arts at Bauhaus University Weimar. Alongside her artistic work, she taught at Bauhaus University Weimar, first as an artistic assistant and later, in 2016/2017, as a visiting professor of experimental photography. Her cross-media works and performances have been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions as well as publications. She has received prestigious grants and awards, including the Reclaim Award in Cologne and scholarships from the Cultural Foundation of Thuringia.
