*'89 Perspectives* created a place where different views on the political events of 1989 could be exchanged and brought into the public sphere. The façade of Leipzig Central Station (east side) became the setting for a public discourse. In advance, Xenorama had interviewed Leipzig residents and contemporary witnesses about the events of 1989 and the changes associated with them. The video interviews were then complemented with animations and sounds and assembled into a projection. *'89 Perspectives* was intentionally not projection mapping in the traditional sense, but a participatory video installation in public space intended to encourage dialogue on social and cultural topics related to the Revolution of 1989 and Leipzig.

How can space be shaped poetically through modern media?

This fascinating question is explored by the six-member artist collective **Xenorama**, which discovers a wide range of forms of expression at the intersection of film, sound, installation and performance.

The artists, each with different creative focuses in their work, combine modern technologies with a fine sensibility for digital storytelling and atmospheric dramaturgy. Their stages include the theatre and public space, architecture, sculptures, organic structures, or even the human body. The creatives from Potsdam and Bremen consistently pursue a site-specific approach that integrates the history of a location and the people connected to it. In doing so, places are recontextualised, enlivened and made tangible. Their art is not simply spectacle, but resonates within local discourse, even if some viewers may momentarily forget where they are during their sensory journey.

Their works are exhibited worldwide and have received numerous national and international awards, including at the Japan Media Art Festival, the International Mapping Festival Girona, the LUMEN Prize London, the Genius Loci Projection Mapping Festival and the Design Award Brandenburg.
